The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented DCAA Accountant with a proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing NetSuite and other DCAA-compliant ERP systems. Key Responsibilities:
- System Implementation & Optimization:
- Lead and support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of NetSuite and various DCAA-compliant ERP system modules to meet DCAA compliance requirements and internal financial needs.
- Act as a subject matter expert for NetSuite and demonstrate strong proficiency with other DCAA-compliant ERP systems, providing guidance and training to finance and project teams.
- Develop and document system workflows, policies, and procedures related to DCAA-compliant accounting in NetSuite and other relevant ERP platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues across financial systems, working closely with IT and external vendors as needed.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within our financial systems.
- DCAA Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure all accounting practices and system configurations adhere to DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations, including FAR, CAS, and other applicable guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for DCAA audits, including forward pricing rate proposals, incurred cost submissions, and other required schedules.
- Support internal and external DCAA audits, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.
- Monitor changes in DCAA regulations and ensure our systems and processes remain compliant.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Collaborate with the finance team to generate accurate and timely financial reports from NetSuite and other DCAA-compliant ERP systems for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within all relevant systems.
- General Accounting:
- Perform various accounting functions, including but not limited to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with other ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in DCAA-compliant accounting within a government contracting environment.
- REQUIRED: Demonstrable expertise and hands-on experience with the successful implementation, configuration, and daily use of NetSuite.
- REQUIRED: Demonstrable expertise and hands-on experience with the successful implementation, configuration, and daily use of at least one DCAA-compliant ERP system (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, JAMIS Prime, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), CAS (Cost Accounting Standards), and DCAA audit requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and Google Workspace (e.g., Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Drive).
