Joe Alston is Vice President of Sales for Daston Corporation. Joe is a results-driven software sales professional with over 20 years of sales, management, and consulting experience in the public and private sector. Having been a small business owner, Joe understands the needs of small businesses and knows what it takes to work effectively with customers. He knows how to be agile and wear many hats; how to run a successful team, and how important it is to have great partners. He uses these skills and attributes every day when directing the sales team at Daston.
Previous to Daston, Joe was an Enterprise Account Executive for Level Access, where he worked with Fortune 500 software companies by assisting them with accessibility, WCAG, and 508 compliance within their software products. He managed the entire external sales process for the company, including negotiating million-dollar contracts and handling internal account management. Additionally, Joe was with Deltek for over 10 years as a Senior Account Manager selling SaaS, Business Intelligence, CRM and other software solutions exclusively to the public sector. In addition to his sales responsibilities, Joe was instrumental in the coordination of outside sales staff, recruitment and developed programs to improve service relations and customer experience.
When he is not working or watching a sci-fi movie, Joe enjoys getting outside. On the weekends, you can usually find him on his mountain bike, on the golf course, or hiking in the woods. Public service and volunteerism are very important to Joe and his family. With a child in Fairfax County Public School(FCPS) system in Virginia, he has served three terms on the FCPS advisory board.
