Joe Alston is Vice President of Sales for Daston Corporation and joined the company in 2021. He is a results-driven software sales professional with over 20 years of sales, management, and consulting experience in the public and private sector. Having been a small business owner, Joe understands the needs of small businesses and knows what it takes to work effectively with customers. He knows how to be agile and wear many hats; how to run a successful team, and how important it is to have great partners. He uses these skills and attributes every day when directing the sales team at Daston.
Previous to Daston, Joe was an Enterprise Account Executive for Level Access, where he worked with Fortune 500 software companies by assisting them with accessibility, WCAG, and 508 compliance within their software products. He managed the entire external sales process for the company, including negotiating million-dollar contracts and handling internal account management.
Before Level Access, Joe worked in sales for a few other software companies after spending nearly 10 years with DELTEK, where he worked as a Senior Account Manager selling high-ticket Software as a Service (SaaS), Business Intelligence, CRM, and other software solutions to the public sector. In addition to his sales duties, he coordinated outside sales; hired and trained incoming staff, and liaised between departments by developing strategic relationships to improve service relations, and customer experience department-wide.
When he is not working or watching a sci-fi movie, Joe enjoys getting outside. On the weekends, you can usually find him on his mountain bike, on the golf course, or hiking in the woods. Public service and volunteerism are very important to Joe and his family. With a child in Fairfax County Public School(FCPS) system in Virginia, he has served three terms on the FCPS advisory board.
